2016 Reliability Engineering Courses

The Division is pleased to offer several Reliability Engineering courses throughout 2016 to both members and non-members.  All courses are 8 hours in length (unless otherwise specified) and include lunch.  We also arrange for discounted rooms at the respective hotels.  Please check with the hotel provided.

  • All one-day courses are $500 for ASQ Reliability Division Members, $500 for ASQrd.org subscribers and $600 for all others
  • Multi-day courses are $500 for ASQ Reliability Division Members, $500 for ASQrd.org subscribers and $600 for all others per day

Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) Preparation taught by Jim Breneman and Mohammad Pourgolmohammad

This course will teach all the foundational material in order to pass the ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) Exam your first time! The Certified Reliability Engineer is a professional who understands the principles of performance evaluation and prediction to improve product/systems safety, reliability and maintainability. This body of knowledge (BOK) and applied technologies include, but are not limited to, design review and control; prediction, estimation, and apportionment methodology; failure mode effects and analysis; the planning, operation and analysis of reliability testing and field failures, including mathematical modeling; understanding human factors in reliability; and the ability to develop and administer reliability information systems for failure analysis, design and performance improvement and reliability program management over the entire product life cycle.

  • 2 day, 8-hours per day course
  • Course fee includes lunch
  • Students are expected to bring their own laptop with Minitab statistical software installed (free 30-day trial available at www.minitab.com)

Accelerated Life Test (ALT) taught by Jim McLinn
Pensacola Beach, FL

The successful student will understand how to use accelerated test principles that can improve hardware reliability for systems. Practical design techniques are encouraged with useful examples and case histories that supplement the theory. Design engineers and their managers who are responsible for design and development of long-lived systems. ALT can be a costly and time consuming activity, it is best to get it right the first time.
This seminar begins with basic theory and expands with the practical examples to cover a wide range of problems with setting-up and analyzing an ALT. ALT is actually a series of tests that can uncover failure modes and hidden flaws before a product is released. Learn easy and practical ways to approach a number of common reliability problems. This course is engineering oriented.

Course Policies
ASQ Reliability Division does not provide laptops and/or calculators to students during courses.  Students are expected to have a trial version of Minitab installed on their own laptop for all courses that require statistical analysis.  Students will be provided a PDF copy of all course material.  All courses are 8 hours or longer and include lunch.

Registration and Cancellation Policy
We offer discounted pricing for ASQ Reliability Division Members and Subscribers.  If you are an ASQ Reliability Division member or subscriber please login to register at the discounted rate.  We process all transactions securely through PayPal.  If you do not know your login, email webmaster@asqrd.org.  We reserve to cancel any course up to 30 days prior.  If a course is cancelled all registrants will be notified as soon as possible, and a full refund will be provided.

Refund Policy
