Our Organizational Structure
Division Chair
Function as the chief executive officer of the division providing leadership and overall management to ensure that the defined division's mission and goals are met.
Division Chair-Elect
Function as the chief executive officer in-training of the division providing leadership and overall management to ensure that the defined division's mission and goals are met. Specific duties as defined by Division Chair. Automatically advances to Division Chair position.
NOTE:
Division Chair-Elect progresses to the Division Chair automatically.
Division Secretary
Manage, maintain and publish key critical division-level documentation and information. The documentation may originate in the secretary's office or be generated by other individuals in division leadership positions. Published information including division meeting minutes, division leadership rosters and organization charts, and other documentation as necessary. Responsible for the accuracy of documentation published/distributed under his or her signature.
Division Treasurer
Function as the chief financial officer of the division, managing all fiduciary functions at the division functional level. The treasurer deploys and maintains all financial reporting processes, monitors and controls spending to be within division council-approved budgets, receives funds credited to the Division and pays appropriate approved and documented expenses, and makes recommendations on short- and long-term division cash investments and vehicles for doing so.
Program Chair
Plan and implement division programs and activities. Coordinate and maintain the regional, enterprise, academic councilor and society liaison programs.
Education Chair
Plans and implements educational programs for the Section such as conferences, seminars, webinars (English, Chinese, Spanish and Short Courses), and on-site courses. Coordinate and work with the ASQ Learning Institute to provide high quality courses.
Membership Chair
Manage recruitment and retention efforts. Including new member welcome, and management of member communications related to retention and renewal. Foster and support local discussion group meetings.
Publications Chair
Develop and maintain division publications including contributions to Quality Engineering, the Division Newsletter, division monographs and related division publications.
NOTE:
The Chair-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Program, Education, Membership, and Publications Chairs are elected positions for a two-year term. The 8 positions (including Division Chair) have control of the division goals, contracts, memorandum of understandings and budget. The 8 elected positions by vote may also appoint vice chairs with specific duties.
The following positions are considered critical to the effective operation of the division.
Newsletter Editor
Develop and maintain a quarterly electronic division newsletter. Work with entire team to collect information of interest to the broad membership, format and prepare for distribution. Work with Publications and Treasurer to secure advertisers.
Internet Liaison
Develop and maintain a continuous reliable source for division information via the Internet. Maintain asq.org/reliability, asqrd.org, reliabilitycalendar.org and various calendars to keep all information current, relevant, and organized.
Division Audit Chair
Coordinate and manage the audit of division financial information as determined by society policies and procedures.
Voice of the Customer Chair
Plans and implements member feedback collection and analysis. Plan and conduct surveys after division sponsored events with intent to learn and improve division events and leadership. Track and report a dashboard of measures for the effective management of division activities, related to membership, websites and events.
CRE Exam Chair
Coordinate and implement tasks to support the CRE exam including body of knowledge, questions and results in accordance with ASQ Exam Board.
Standards Chair
Coordinate and implement task to support standards development including awareness and development in cooperation with the ASQ Standards Committee.
NOTE:
Vice Chair positions may be appointed by the division officers or appointed chair to support the accomplishment of duties. Many volunteers work on teams lead by chairs or vice-chairs to accomplish goals and tasks. It is only by the work of volunteers that the division can provide a high level of service to the division members and our profession.
