Statistics for Reliability Analysis
Taught by Marc Banghart
Days :Monday, July 27, 2015, 8:00am – 5:00 pm
Statistics provides a valuable tool to study, analyze and interpret data in support of product design. This course will cover foundational concepts in statistics, more specifically how they are applied within the field of reliability engineering. The course will be focused on providing a high level overview of core concepts needed in order to successfully apply reliability engineering tools. Learning objectives will be reinforced by utilizing several case studies.
This 8-hour course will:
- Cover foundational aspects in probability and statistics applicable to reliability engineering
- Provide engineers the tools to analysis failure and repair data
Topics will include:
- Probability theory
- Commonly used distributions to include exponential, Weibull and Lognormal
- Data censoring
- Analysis of repairable systems
- Confidence intervals
- Linear regression
- Case studies
Students will receive a CD of all material used (.pdf’s, .xls,.doc) and a certificate for 0.8 RU’s after successful completion.
Student must bring: Attendees are expected to bring their own laptop computers. While the course will concentrate on the content-not any particular software, a software package is necessary to facilitate learning of the material. Minitab will be used. If attendees do not have Minitab installed on their computer, a 30-day free trial can be downloaded from www.minitab.com; but please make note not to download and install the software more than 30 days prior to the course.
